Polyus Zoloto — CAF The charitable programme “Grant competition Polyus Gold — CAF” was designed and is implemented by CAF Russia with the financial support from the company «Polyus Gold».
It is a large-scale programme launched in 2007 and aimed at identifying and supporting social initiatives, programmes and projects of nonprofit organizations in all regions of presence of «Polyus Gold».
The main component of the Programme are grant competitions for non-profit (public, municipal, governmental) organizations.
The Programme is implemented in the following regions:
- Region 1 — Magadan and Tenkinsky district of Magadan region;
- Region 2 – Irkutsk and Bodaibinsky district of the Irkutsk region;
- Region 3 – Krasnoyarsk and North-Yenisei region of Krasnoyarsk Krai;
- Region 4 — Yakutsk and Aldan district of the Sakha Republic (Yakutia).
Charity usually helps to implement two important social functions: the first function is to preserve the local population and support its reproductive performance and the second is to foster local community development.
The first function includes care for the homeless, hungry, lonely, old people, abandoned children, seriously ill, etc. The second means support of promising social initiatives and undertakings when charity stimulates people to act. Here we deal with the second function where instead of giving fish to the hungry we provide them with fishing-rods. |
