Step Further

Elena Timchenko, the founder of the “Ladoga” Foundation says that creation of the foundation is a very important step. They have been involved in charitable activites for many years, and eventually realized that they need a professional structure that could effectively manage their projects. They want the foundation’s programme not only to help solve the problems of the older generation, but also to attract the attention of the government and society at large to the problem of decent life for elderly people, who have done so much for our present and future.

The programme of “Ladoga” Foundation «Step Further» will help to make elderly people’s life more interesting and varied. The pilot phase of the programme includes a grant competition «Developing Activities of the Elderly». The Foundation «Ladoga» is looking for Russian non-profit organizations, and initiative groups of citizens who are willing to offer the most exciting and innovative projects aimed at helping elderly people to get involved in active life.

The competition is held in Arkhangelsk and Leningrad regions, the Karelia Republic and St. Petersburg.

«We hope that many people will respond and take part in the competition, and the Expert Council will be able to choose really interesting and effective projects,» said Maria Morozova, the General Director of «Ladoga», «I encourage everyone who has ideas for working with older people to participate in our competition!»

The Charitable Foundation «Ladoga» was founded by the Timchenkos in 2010. It was the result of long-term philanthropic activities by Gennady and Elena Timchenko.

One of the main purposes of the foundation is to attract the attention of Russian society to the problems of the older generation and to help to solve them by implementing new effective programmes. The Foundation «Ladoga» also initiates and supports projects in the field of science and art, and helps to restore monuments of spiritual and cultural heritage.
