Look and see The programme «Look and See» aims to help older people with treatment of one of the most common age-related diseases — cataract. Assistance will be provided to the most vulnerable categories of elderly people living in remote areas in Russia, and having no access to high-tech medical care.
We want to improve the quality of life of older people, by helping to return eyesight and full, independent and dignified life.
PROJECT IMPLEMENTATION
Ivanovo region was selected as the region for the pilot programme, but we are planning to expand our geography of work in the future.
The partners of the Foundation «Ladoga» are CAF Russia and the clinic «Svetodar» in Ivanovo licensed to carry out hi-tech operations on cataract. To receive the aid the patient has to be the Russian citizen and the resident of Ivanovo region (excluding the regional center — Ivanovo) aged over 60.
The formal procedures are minimized for the patients’ convenience. Considering the age of the participants and their activity limitations, the experts of the clinic «Svetodar» regularly go to remote areas of the Ivanovo region for the diagnostics and paperwork, and subsequently organize transportation of patients to the clinic and back. |
