The Jewish communities

The charitable programme «Jewish communities» is aimed at revival of Jewish identity, and preservation of national cultural and historical heritage and development of social activity of Russian-speaking Jewish communities in Russia and worldwide.

The project started on September 1, 2007 and is being implemented by CAF Russia, with the support from the UJA-Federation of New York and Genesis Philanthropy Group.

UJA-Federation of New York is the largest philanthropic foundation in New York, helping 4.5 million people in 60 countries. The main purpose of the organization is to take care of Jewish communities in need. The Federation pays great attention to Jewish education, to the revival and strengthening of the Jewish people in New York, Israel and all around the world. One of the most important activities of the Federation is revitalizing Jewish identity among Russian-speaking Jews in Russia, Israel and the CIS.

«Genesis» (Genesis Philanthropy Group, GPG) is a foundation, whose goal is to develop Jewish identity among young Russian Jews. The Foundation operates in the FSU, Israel and North America. CAF Russia was selected as a reliable partner for implementation of philanthropic programmes in Russia and CIS.
